For all Den Chiefs, Scouts who want to be Den Chiefs, and

Leaders who need a Chief!

OVERVIEW:  Join us at the 2013 Den Chief Training for a fun-filled and informative training session that will prepare YOU to Lead the Way into Scouting as a Den Chief. Learn how to work with den leaders to develop skills that motivate young Scouts to Do Their Best, and to help prepare Webelos Scouts for Boy Scouting. Our experienced staff of Den Chiefs and adult leaders will get you started and show how YOU can demonstrate leadership within your Troop and encourage Cubs to continue on the Scouting Trail.  Training is a requirement to qualify for the Den Chief Service Award and to make working with the Cubs and Den Leaders easier and even more enjoyable.  You will leave this training with new ideas for skits, songs, games and tricks to thrill the boys you will be working with. 

NOTE:  This year’s Den Chief Training will be held as a class at the University of Scouting.  Registration will be online.  You will be able to find the registration at www.alohacouncilbsa.org as a separate registration from the University of Scouting. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Needs to be an older, experienced Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, or Venturer who has been a Boy Scout. Selected by the senior patrol leader and Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout Coach, or Venturing Advisor at the request of the Cubmaster or Webelos den leader; preferably a former Cub Scout; ideally a more mature Scout; approved by the Cubmaster and pack committee for recommendation to the den leader. Participant must be registered as a youth member of a troop, team, or crew. 

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS:  Den Chief Book (reviewed prior to attending training), Pen or Pencil, notebook, Class “A” field uniform, and AN ENTHUSIASTIC ATTITUDE!

CLASS SCHEDULE:  Registration will begin at 7:30am.  Must be completed with registration before 8:30am.  Please come early.  Lunch will be provided at noon.
