2010 MEMORIAL DAY "GOOD TURN"

National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl

Aloha Council’s Memorial Day Good Turn at Punchbowl is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, May 30, 2010. The project will begin at 11:30 AM with registration and pre-program instructions. No onsite parking will be available. Units should plan to arrive as early as 11:00 AM Please see the Leader's Guidebook for more details on parking and program schedules. 

At 1:00 PM, an Interfaith Worship Memorial Service will be conducted honoring those who have been laid to rest in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Following the ceremonies, Scouts will decorate the graves. The project will finish by 3:00 PM

To show reverence for the sacrifice of those buried in the Cemetery, we have ensured there will be absolutely no eating on the grounds of the Cemetery, with the exception of the refreshments that will be provided by the City and County. Please remind Scouts of the Leave No Trace commitment. Also, leaders, please ensure Scouts are demonstrating a good example of Scouting values; no running, laughing, or in any way disrespecting this honorable occasion. Another way we can show respect for this honor is to ensure all of our Scouts are properly dressed in a pressed Class “A” Uniform, closed-toed shoes and shirts tucked-in.

Unit check-in will begin at 11:30 AM Unit coordinators will report to their district representatives and provide the number of registered youth and adults participating.
