In January of 2010, the Aloha Council started a new program that allows units to receive free rank badges for 2011. Units that are a "Quality Unit", who participate in family Friends of Scouting, sell Makahiki tickets, and sell Popcorn/Wreaths will qualify for badges of rank FREE of charge in 2011.
The Aloha Council believes in a partnership between our units and the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. Units should benefit if they participate in the fundraising efforts of the council.
Free badges of rank include the following (Bobcat, Tigers, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Arrow of Light, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, the Venturing Bronze, Gold, or Silver award and all Varsity Letters).
A master list of qualifying units will be kept at the Council Service Center. This program is for badges of rank only. It does not cover replacement or duplicate badges of rank. This also does not include Eagle Recognition kits nor merit badges. An online advancement report must be turned in at the time of purchase.
