WELCOME TO THE MAKAHIKI!
~ Celebrating the 105th Makahiki here in the Islands ~
The Makahiki is an annual event of the Aloha Council to showcase the best of the best programs of our local Scouting units. It is the oldest Scouting show in the United States of America. The first Makahiki was held in 1911 at Camp Bluegum in Aiea Heights. This proud tradition has continued every year since. The success of the Makahiki has been built upon the participation and advance planning of volunteer leaders like you.
We are proud of our island traditions and the role that Scouting has played. We continue to be the largest and best youth program in our community. Now is the time to share it with everyone!
Please participate in the Makahiki Show and share our story with all of Hawaii’s families!
We will also continue our competition this year called the Makahiki Challenge. This competition will have you competing against all Troops within the Aloha Council represented at this year’s Makahiki.
