Q UALITY PROGRAM BEGINS WITH QUALITY LEADERS
Through strong district operations a quality Scouting program is delivered. This occurs through local community groups and caring volunteer leaders. Scouting programs reinforce the mission of the Boy Scouts of America and its aims:
- Character Development
- Citizenship Training
- Mental and Physical Fitness
Scouting achieves its mission and aims by delivering high quality, fun and meaningful experiences in the following programs:

Cub Scouting is a program of the Boy Scouts of America for boys in the first through fifth grade or ages 7 through 10. Cub Scouting is comprised of 4 age appropriate areas. Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Weblos. Cub Scouting members join a Cub Scout pack and are assigned to a den, usually a neighborhood group of six to eight boys. Tiger Cubs (first-graders), Wolf Cub Scouts (second graders), Bear Cub Scouts (third graders), and Webelos Scouts (fourth and fifth graders) meet weekly.
Once a month, all of the dens and family members gather for a pack meeting under the direction of a Cubmaster and pack committee. The committee includes parents of boys in the pack and members of the chartered organization.

Varsity Scouting is a program for young men who are at least 14 years of age but not yet 18. It provides options for young men who are looking for rugged high adventure or challenging sporting activities and still want to be a part of a Scouting program that offers the advancement and values of the Boy Scouts of America.

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.
Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens.

The Aloha Council strives to provide the best support possible to its Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams and Venture Crews. This support exists through district leaders that care about the success of each chartered organization and its Scouting program.
Key strategies in helping our units include:
Fully staffed District Committees and Commissioner staff.
Effective training for all unit and district leaders on an ongoing basis.
Maximizing camp facilities to enable units to supplement their annual program plans.
Tracking unit progress in achievement of the National Quality Unit Award.
SCOUTING HAPPENS BECAUSE OF YOU!
All these strategies involve the leadership and support of volunteers. At both the district and unit levels volunteers are the absolute key to a quality program and its positive impact on young people.
HOW CAN I HELP?
It takes adult leadership to make Scouting successful. But not everyone is a born leader. And to this end, Scouting is constantly equipping adult volunteers to do a better job of leadership. Regular and customized training meetings are held to help Scout leaders be successful in their volunteering at every level of participation.
Of course we need adults who enjoy working with young people. But not everyone need work with youth to make an impact. Many areas are available to be involved and we can help tailor times and activities to fit your interest and availability.
