Throughout the year, Koolau hosts a series of District events.
Camporee is a three day camping event for Boy Scout aged youth. Camporees are all about fun and scout skills. At a Camporee you can expect knot tying, cooking competitions, campfires and other fun activities. Typically, we host our Camporee in conjunction with Kapiolani District at the Bellows recreation area in the fall. Over two hundred youth participate each year in our camporee!
Day Camp is a keystone experience for any Cub Scout. Featuring a mix of archery, bb guns, and other fun activities, Day Camp helps keep your Cub excited about the scouting program! We typically have over 130 youth in attendance at each camp. Past themes have included "Take Flight!," "Days of Knights," and "A Jungle Adventure." Day Camp typically occurs at the end of May or the beginning of June. Campk Kokokahi YWCA is a favorite place for us to host our Day Camps.
Koolau District, in cooperation with Aloha Council, hosts a set of trainings twice a year. Typically each slate of training will include Basic Leader Training for Cub Scouts and Boy Scout leaders as well as an Introduction to Outdoor Leaders Skills for Boy Scout leaders. These events are open to leaders island wide and have no or minimal cost.
