Join us for an Open House on Saturday, February 13 at Aloha Council Service Center from 10am-12pm.

What can you do at Jamboree?  Meet over 50,000 new best friends!  You will be camping for 9 nights at the National Jamboree Headquarters at the Summit-Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia.  Hike, earn merit badges, participate in Order of the Arrow events, white water rafting, climb, dragon boat racing, water obstacle courses, attend lots of shows with loud speakers and music...it's like a massive summer camp!

Why sign up now? We have one troop filled and will have to cancel the second troop if we cannot get enough participation.  If we cancel the second troop, we will only be able to take an additional 10 Scouts. We've estimated the cost of the trip to be about $4,000 to include a pre-Jamboree trip to Boston/Philadelphia or Washington D.C. We will begin working on fund-raising activities through Makahiki Ticket/Popcorn sales as well as group fundraising activities, so that no one pays any out of pocket expenses!

The 2017 theme, “Live Scouting’s Adventure,” speaks both to Scouting’s century-old tradition of creating adventures that develop young people into the leaders of tomorrow and to the developing adventures of the next century of Scouting.

This will be the second jamboree held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia’s adventure sports region known as the New River Gorge. Located on a sprawling 10,600 acres, the property includes more than 5 miles of zip line and challenge courses, 36 miles of mountain bike trails, and 13 acres of shooting sports ranges, as well as venues for kayaking, rock climbing, bouldering, skateboarding, BMX, and various other activities. The 2013 National Scout Jamboree welcomed approximately 30,000 Scouts, Venturers, volunteers, and staff.

The jamboree is open to active youth members and adult volunteer leaders in BSA programs and will be held July 19-28, 2017. Staff members will be able to register for the jamboree in April 2015, while registration for youth and adult participants will open in May 2015.
