On the North Shore - Waimea Falls, Sunset Beach and the Banzai Pipeline are all close by.

Visiting Hawaii and attending Boy Scout resident camp can be a momorable adventure for mainland Scouts and leaders. Visiting troops may prefer to take advantage of an extended program plan. Use the camp as a home base and spend the extra days enjoying the beach and touring Oahu. Some troops visit the neighbor islands while enroute to and from the camp.

In addition to an outstanding traditional Boy Scout resident camp. Camp Pupukea offers out-of-council troops the opportunity to participate in a special program we call Hawaiiana. Scouts and leaders may earn Aloha Council's Hawaiiana Award by completing requirements that include learning Hawaiian games, dances, plants, and language, along with visiting historical sites and landmarks, writing a report on Hawaiiana, and cooking Hawaiian foods.

Camp Alan Faye - Island of Kauai

[map] [schedule] [guide] [quick reference] [reserve]

Near Waimea Canyon - the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"

Camp Alan Faye is located in the cool, high mountains of Koke'e State Park on Kauai, 13 miles up Mount Waialeale from the seaside town of Waimea. The camp is adjacent to the famous Waimea Canyon, a popular visitor attraction on the Garden Island. Kauai's Na Pali Coast is west of the camp where sea caves and white beaches are hidden away at the base of steep mountains accessible by rugged hiking trails. The area is rich with many of Hawaii's endangered species. Native Hawaiian trees, local plants and many wild birds are found throughout the area. A hike to the inspiring Kalalau valley lookout or the Waimea Canyon lookout can be a highlight adventure for the Scouts.

Camp Alan Faye provides primitive camping facilities for experienced troops seeking a challenging outdoor adventure for older Scouts.

Camp Honokaia - Island of Hawaii

(The Big Island) Home of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Why not combine summer camp and a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National park for an unparalleled experience in geological grandeur, ecology-conservation and Hawaiiana?

Visit Mauna Loa, Kilauea Caldera, Crater Rim Drive, Volcano House and the park's visitor center. Then explore the 50-mile stretch of the Belt Road along the Hamakua Coast from Hilo to Waipio and the Boy Scout Camp west of Honokaa.

Camp Honokaia is located on the Island of Hawaii between Honokaa and Waimea above Waipio Valley, known as the "Valley of Kings". The camp offers Scouts the opportunity to camp in a tropical rain forest, learn Hawaiiana, and participate in ecology-conservation programs featuring many of Hawaii's endangered species.

Scouts and leaders may earn Aloha Council's Hawaiiana Award by completing requirements that include learning Hawaiian games, dances, plants, and language, along with visiting historical sites and landmarks, writing a report on Hawaiiana, and cooking Hawaiian foods.
