  • Application must complete to be eligible for the 2016 Fred Trotter Eagle Scout Scholarship. This scholarship is worth $3,000 and sponsored by HMAA. There will be one runner up scholarship of $1,000, sponsored by an anonymous Eagle Scout who is very appreciative of life preparation that Scouting provided.
  • Scout must have earned Eagle rank after February 1, 2014 (regardless of age) and did not apply in a prior year.
  • If selected, the Eagle will represent his Eagle class as the Youth Speaker at the Eagle Scout Recognition Banquet. Attendance to this banquet is required for both awardees. See details below:

National Society, Sons of the American Revolution

Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarship


Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application.   (The application year is the calendar year, 01 Jan. to 31 Dec.)   The year that Eagle was awarded is not restricted.  College plans do not need to be completed in order to receive the cash scholarship.  Three cash scholarship awards are given in the national competition, First Place winner - $8,000.00; Runner-up - $4,000.00; 2nd runner-up - $2,000.00.  You may apply more than one year if you meet the age requirements but no more than $8,000.00 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout.

Entrants need to complete only one application -- the one for the Hawaii Society Sons of the American Revolution competition.  If it is wins on the state level, it is then used for the national competition.

The application consists of: 1. The two page application form, 2. The Four Generation ancestor chart, 3. The 500 word Patriotic Theme.
